Amazon has appointed Marc Patrick, former head of marketing at Nike, as the new global head of sports marketing.
Patrick had a 21-year career with Nike from 1998 to November 2019. His last role was as Global Brand Communications Manager and before that as Global Brand Marketing Manager, Specialty Categories (Golf , Tennis and Nike Skateboarding). During the past year, he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Beyond Meat.
Patrick will take the lead in Amazon’s coverage of the National Football League (NFL) after the streaming service acquired the first all-digital package to televise Thursday Night Football in March as part of the new round of rights deals. Amazon has also just started broadcasting certain New York Yankees games in the New York City area through a stake in the YES network controlled by the Yankee. Patrick will also work with Amazon Studios on the company’s sports documentaries and other sports-related content.

Marc’s expertise in delivering successful sports marketing campaigns on behalf of some of the world’s best-known brands will ensure success in educating customers about our premium sports content.
“He will lead the team tasked with creating compelling marketing plans that effectively integrate mass media, social media, promotional activities and other means of engaging fans globally.”
Patrick will work alongside Amazon vice president for global sports video Marie Donoghue and report to Ojo.
