An award-winning Nigerian artist, Sen Sor, said that beyond producing works, artists need more strategies to market their works.
Sor, who spoke after his joint exhibition with Amarachi Odimba in Abuja, said global knowledge would help the artist excel globally.
He said the exhibition titled “Shared Encounters” explored the artistic engagement of a sense of reciprocity. He added that it also showed experiences of uncertain times, “reflections on our social structures and the similarities in our responses to life’s crises”.
Speaking about his partnership with Amarachi, he urged the artists to explore the partnership, adding that the similarities in their practice guaranteed the success of the partnership.
“We both had a few solo and group shows. What makes this special is that it is a duet, showcasing the strength of style, themes, subject matter and of course a much talked about sense of gender balance “, did he declare.
Fraser Suites Abuja General Manager, Deniz Isikci, who hosted the exhibition, said: “Formally, each of these artists highlighted design elements such as line, color, texture and shape. The human figure is prominent in most of the paintings on display, unfolding it as a motif worth celebrating and contemplating.
Among the dignitaries present at the exhibition were ambassadors from Italy, Turkey and Brazil.
