The First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will celebrate the fifth Sunday of Easter at 9:30 am on Sunday May 2nd.

The message will be from Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton. Holy Communion will be served.

For those planning to attend worship in the parking lot, the church parking lot stretches from the north side of Anderson Cleaners to Maple Street and from South Eighth Street to The Office Shop. Tune the radio to 97.7 FM.

Sunday May 2 is the blessing of plants and seeds (Rogate Sunday) at 9 a.m.

We offer our complementary plant seedlings at tables outside the celebration center to maintain safe social distancing, so select your own when you show up for the worship service. U0009

Pastor Jerry Raedeke will officiate at this service, but guest preacher Pastor Daren Blanck, Lutheran pastor and former LCC member will preach a sermon titled “The Reconciliation of All Creation.”

After the service, stay for a forum presented by Daren Blanck on “The Hidden Environmental and Societal Costs of Fossil Fuels”. Blanck will discuss the impacts of eco-justice and why it is important to engage from a biblical perspective.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has three worship services scheduled for this week.

On Wednesday, April 28, there will be an evening worship service at 6 p.m. with pastoral intern Matthew Engum preaching. Holy Communion will be served.

On Sunday May 2, there will be a worship service at 9 a.m. with Pastor Hans Anderson preaching and Holy Communion will be served. This service is broadcast live on KVBR 1340 radio and streamed live on YouTube.

The Sunday School will meet at 9.45 a.m. at Fellowship Hall.

Intern Matthew Engum will lead a book study on “The Great Divorce” by CS Lewis. The class will meet in the choir room at 10 a.m.

“Drive Up Blessing and Holy Communion” will be available in the parking lot at Gate 2 from 10:15 am to 10:45 am

On Sunday May 2, the Lutheran Church of Bethlehem, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd, will celebrate the fifth Easter Sunday with a drive-through service with communion at 8:45 am Pastor Mark Skinner will preach. Get there early, stay in the car and park in the designated parking lot.

The Sunday School will meet in person on Sunday at 9:45 am Masks will be worn. Social distancing will be practiced.

Two new study groups will begin at the First Congregational United Church of Christ.

BAXTER – Lord of Life Lutheran Church will have its annual meeting on June 6th.

This meeting gives the congregation an overview of the work being done by Lord of Life, the church budget and allows them to vote on issues.

At the end of May, an annual meeting information pack, such as the agenda and ministry reports, will be available at www.lolbaxter.org. Staff will contact groups this week to request these reports.
