Church News – May 12

The Lutheran Trinity Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has two worship services scheduled for this week.

On Wednesday, May 12, there will be an evening worship service at 6 p.m. with the preaching of Pastor Paul Erdal. Holy Communion will be served. After the service, the Trinity Bells will meet in the choir room.

On Sunday May 16, there will be a worship service in the outdoor parking lot at 9 a.m. with Pastor Paul Erdal preaching and Holy Communion will be served. This service is broadcast live on KVBR 1340 radio and streamed live on YouTube. The 17 Trinity high school students will be recognized during the service.

“Drive Up Blessing and Holy Communion” will be available in the parking lot at Gate 2 from 10:15 am to 10:45 am

On May 18, the Trinity Quilters will meet in the Exchange Room at 9 a.m.

South Long Lake Church, 13152 Smart Road, will have Pastor Mark Bosserman as a speaker. The service begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and will be broadcast live on Facebook.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd, will celebrate the Seventh Sunday of Easter with a drive-through service with communion at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 16, with the preaching of Pastor Mark Skinner. Get there early, stay in the car and park in the designated parking lot.

The Sunday School will meet in person at 9.45 a.m. on Sunday. Masks will be worn. Social distancing will be practiced. Contact Pastor Sarah for more information

The church will now offer in-person worship services with communion at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Masks will be worn. Social distancing will be practiced. Space is limited. The services will continue to be broadcast live on Sundays at www.facebook.com/bethlehem.brainerd. The service will be set up www.belcnet.net after its completion for later viewing.

The First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will celebrate the Seventh Sunday of Easter at 9:30 am Sunday, May 16, with Pastor Patty Bjorklund delivering the sermon.

During worship, the Sunday School program will be presented and there will be a distribution of Bibles to all 3-year-old and third-graders (and to all 4-year-olds and fourth-graders who have not not received the Bible last year). To reserve places in the sanctuary, dial 218-829-9552.

The in-person worship service will be streamed in the church parking lot, on YouTube and through Zoom Online.

BAXTER – Baxter’s Lord of Life Lutheran Church is gearing up for another season of Summer Stretch.

This program is open to those who participate in the confirmation program next school year. It is an opportunity for young people to connect with Christ (short bible study), to connect with the community (to do service work) and to connect with each other (fun summer activities).

Summer Stretch youth meet on Thursdays in June and July. This program also allows those who participate to meet people from other participating churches of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in the region.

The deadline to register for Summer Stretch is Friday May 14th at lolbaxter.org/ministries/summer-activities.

Events start June 3.
