Coinbase will pay users 4% interest on USDC holdings

Leading cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced that users will be able to earn 4% interest on USD Coin through a product from the company versus an alternative to a fiat savings account.

In a Tuesday blog post, Coinbase mentionned its users could earn an annual percentage return of 4%, or APY, by loaning out their holdings for the USD Coin Stable Coin (USDC). The crypto exchange appeared to be targeting banks with the offer, claiming it offered a better return than a typical savings account in the United States.
