Waterford – The Eastern Regional Tourism District will provide grants for marketing initiatives in support of the tourism economy of eastern Connecticut.
Businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities in Eastern Connecticut are encouraged to develop marketing plans focused on the region’s tourism economy and to encourage the safe enjoyment of Connecticut tourism opportunities.
Applications will be accepted until January 15th.
âThe Eastern Regional Tourism District is pleased to continue to offer this regional marketing partnership program to strengthen our existing efforts,â said Jim Bellano, District President. âWe have had two successful rounds of marketing grants that have provided opportunities for organizations that may not have had the means to market their programs without the help of the district. “
The State Tourist Board has allocated $ 50,000 to fund the program, with individual awards capped at $ 10,000. Requirements include:
â¢ Applicants for the marketing program must be located in the Eastern Regional Tourism District of 41 cities.
â¢ Programs should represent a region, theme, business clusters or cities.
â¢ Programs must support the existing tourism brand identity of âMystic Countryâ.
â¢ Marketing plans should be consistent with the initiatives and goals of the Connecticut District and Tourism Board.
â¢ Programs and messages must be approved by the district marketing committee.
â¢ Partners will be required to submit regular expenditure and work reports to the district within 60 days of the agreement.
â¢ Upon completion of this program, fellows must submit a final report to the district documenting the use of grant funds.

To submit a plan for review, the plan must be in PDF format and be submitted to Rachel Lenda at the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce at [email protected] Plans should include a full description of the project, a timeline, measurable goals, and a proposed budget. Applicants will be eligible for one program grant per year.
