Gautam said that the easy availability of loans will help street vendors re-establish their businesses and earn a decent living.
The policy is still in process, but an official said the process to obtain the loan would be straightforward and there would be no guarantee or guarantor requirement. “After someone applies for a loan, a simple verification is done to verify the person’s credentials. The person must be a resident of Delhi. After the general verification, the loan will be disbursed, ”said an official. The interest rate has yet to be decided, but it will be very low, the official added.
