Jo Juler joins Basketball Australia as Marketing Manager

Jo Juler has been appointed as Executive Managing Director – Marketing, Communications and Digital at Basketball Australia.

Juler has been a member of high-level international and national sports organizations, including Marketing Manager – Tennis and Australian Open at Tennis Australia; marketing, communications and sales director of Melbourne & Olympic Parks; and Managing Director – Director of Marketing and Communications at Melbourne Football Club.

Basketball Australia interim CEO Carolyn Campbell said it was an important meeting for the sports organization.

“Jo brings tremendous industry experience to Basketball Australia, where she has a solid reputation for exceptional results and is joining the organization at an exciting time for the sport,” said Campbell.

“Basketball has one of the highest base turnouts of any sport in Australia, our national teams at the senior and junior levels are ranked among the best in the world, which reflects our elite course we produce. world-revered official coaches, and the Chemist Warehouse WNBL is not only Australia’s oldest elite women’s athletic competition, but it is recognized as one of the top international leagues. “

As Tennis Australia’s Marketing Manager, Juler guided marketing efforts which included promoting Sport Australia’s national community creative platform, ‘Move it’, and the first campaign in partnership with Sport Australia, ‘find your 30’, aimed at encouraging the Australian public to be more physically active by finding 30 minutes of exercise in any way possible.

At the time, Juler said the “Find Your 30” campaign was aimed at solving a national problem with children and families getting less exercise and physical activity. And all sporting codes now recognize that if Australians don’t even get their 30 minutes of exercise, they are unlikely to play the sport.

“Through Marketing 12, we can work with Sport Australia to solve the most serious problem. Yes, we are competitive in the sense that we all want children to play our sport, but we coexist well. We know that Australian kids try out all kinds of sports, and it’s good for them, ”said Juler.

Now a member of the Basketball Australia leadership team, Juler will lead the governing body’s marketing, communications and digital team, working with internal and external stakeholders to drive his growth agenda as identified in the new plan. the organization’s four-year strategy.
