Lakes Jam – an outdoor music festival that combines country and rock with top-notch camping – will last four days instead of three this year and take place June 23-26 at Brainerd International Raceway, north of Brainerd.
“Coming back after being away last year almost created a nervous excitement because it seems like it’s been so long since the last Lakes Jam,” Lakes Jam General Manager Ken Lacy said in a press release. . “People are super excited and seem to have an extra bounce in their step when they talk about their plans for Lakes Jam in June.

Lakes Jam 2021 will be presented by Farm Bureau Financial Services. Many artists who signed up for Lakes Jam 2020 have agreed to return in 2021. Artists will perform on the main stage at Bud Light from June 24-26, with doors opening at 4 p.m.

New in 2021, the Coca Cola Tribute will take place on Wednesday, June 23, with The Crown Jewels (Famous Queen Tribute Band) at 7 p.m. and Hairball at 9 p.m. to perform on the main stage. Fool Fighters will perform at 5 p.m. on the secondary stage, as well as after both groups have finished. This event is open to the public, not just campers. Doors open at 1 p.m.
Lakes Jam also added nine regional bands to the VIP BOB FM Secondary and MRIequip stages.
Lacy said in a press release that Lakes Jam, founded in 2012, offers something more than just a music festival. During midday, Lakes Jam attendees can enjoy events such as drifting, watercross, lawn mower race, beanbag tournament and more.
Campers can use an all-terrain vehicle, an all-terrain utility vehicle, a golf cart and bicycles with a permit to travel on the BIR grounds.

Lakes Jam organizers founded MINNEJam in 2019 as a fun music event to prepare for the main event. This year’s MINNEJam is scheduled for Saturday, June 12 at The Woods, off Highway 3 in Crow Wing County, in rural Brainerd.
