COLLEGEVILLE — Ashley Kimman won three events and Pierz picked up two more victories in the 5-1A Section Finals on Wednesday, June 1 at St. John’s University.
Kimman won the 100 and 300 meter hurdles as well as the high jump for the Pierz girls, who placed fourth.
Pierz’s Andrew Morris won the pole vault in 12-foot-6 and Kolby Brezinka won the shot put with a throw of 48-3.75 to lead the second-placed Pierz boys’ team.

DETROIT LAKES – Lucas Ganley of Pequot Lakes finished fourth in the shot put with a thrust of 46-foot-8 to earn the region’s best finish in the Section 8-2A preliminaries on Wednesday, June 1.
Pequot’s Carly Chaney was the top female finisher with a fifth-place finish in 11:53.05 in the 3200m race. The top two and those who qualify under the state standard move on to the state.
Cruz Megazzini collected two second places in the preliminaries.
The Section 8-2A Finals will be held on Saturday, June 4 in Alexandria
