STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Swedish steelmaker SSAB on Monday reported quarterly operating profit above analysts’ expectations and said the recovery that began last fall had strengthened in the first quarter.
SSAB’s operating profit in the first quarter was 1.99 billion Swedish kronor ($ 237.6 million), up from 343 million in the last year’s quarter, and beating a profit of 1.30 billion seen by analysts according to data from Refinitiv.
