WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. State Department said on Friday that U.S. citizens traveling to Ukraine, including those leaving to take part in the conflict, are at a very real risk of being captured or killed, as it warned that Washington would not be able to facilitate evacuation.
“They may be subject to potential criminal prosecution attempts and may be at increased risk of mistreatment,” State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters.
